Character Description

There is a tall figure often overlooked due to his stealthy nature. He usually sits at the back, clad entirely in black. His eyes, however, are striking, resembling the vibrant red of autumn leaves, and they hold your gaze once you lock eyes with him.

Current Game Features

The demo currently offers the following features: a 2-day playthrough, an unnamed MC that can be customized or set using the enter key, gender-neutral options for three genders (he, she, they), two love interests, more than 15 CGs, animated CGs, and a completion time of less than an hour (with longer completion times possible). The demo also includes a glossary and album.

Release Date and Love Interests

I am still deciding on the full game release date. Since I'm doing this solo project with help from friends for grammar and code corrections, I aim to complete it by Halloween, but it might take a year or two. The full game features two love interests: Sol and Crowe.

Payment and Access Information

The full game is free to play, but the NSFW build is behind a paywall to ensure minors do not access it. However, there is no difference between the NSFW and SFW builds except the explicit content. If you have purchased the NSFW build, ensure to pay or donate exactly $5 for Itch payments, which do not stack. This will grant you access to the game in your library through platforms like Tumblr, Twitter, and Patreon.

Pre-Download Notes

Before downloading the game, remember the following: the game requires a 64-bit system, as RenPy's current build supports 64-bit systems and is recommended for optimal performance. Download the base free version first to ensure compatibility before purchasing the NSFW version. If you cannot find the .exe file, it may be due to your computer's malware protection app; rest assured, my game is not a virus and does not carry any harmful malware.

Version 2.3 Update and Save Files

As of version 2.3, your old save files will encounter an error. For this reason, I highly suggest starting from the beginning. The new layout for codes and names in the updated version might cause compatibility issues with previous save files. To avoid game crashes, do not merge new files with old ones. If you wish to start your progress all over, follow these steps:

1. Press Win+R to open the Run dialog box.

2. Type in %appdata% and navigate to the RenPy folder.

3. Delete the 'The Kid at the Back' folder entirely.
